Hi,

only in SAP CAL these 2 instances exist for SOLMAN 7.2 :

SAP Solution Manager 7.2: Design and Build in your SAP S/4HANA Planning Phase
SAP Solution Manager 7.2: Test Drive Content Activation of a Customer’s Own Documentation

can i use one of the above instances to test other scenario in SOLMAN 7.2 like PPM, ITSM new feature, Business requirement ?

also i noticed that these 2 instances available only AMAZON, is it available to use it on MICROSOFT AZURE ? as we don't have access to AMAZON

Regards,

Hi

You can see more information on which content is in such an instance using the more information link when you click on the description of the instance in the SAP CAL library:

You have there the "Getting Started Guide" and you have the link to "More information" which will typically points to a blog post on SCN.

In terms of where you can run the instance, this is also visible in SAP CAL, if it does not state Microsoft Azure, you cannot deploy there:

This is not the case for these instance types so it's not possible to push these there and Amazon AWS is currently the only option.

Both instances are still based on SP02 which is the ramp-up version of SAP Solution Manager 7.2. You could probably use either of them to test the scenario's you mention, on the second one, I'm sure these can work because I had one of those running.

However, in the meantime, SP03 came out and SolMan 7.2 is General Available. So it might make more sense to install a system yourself at this point in time so you can check out the latest available features / functions in these scenario's. Of course that takes more time compared to a deployment with SAP CAL which translates into some wait time for the instances to be available, post processing to be done but you'll be accessing the system within 30 - 40 minutes of time in case of deployment via SAP CAL.

I use Amazon AWS frequently, I like it, it's fast, easy to make changes, easy to manage. In terms of having access to it, the guest wifi tends to do the trick at customer side when a customer doesn't want to allow access to Amazon AWS from within the corporate network.

Best regards

Tom

Just remember that if you use Amazon AWS you do pay per use so you pay a smaller fee for disk space per month and you pay when the instance is running. So recommendation is stop the instance when you are not using it to avoid high costs.
