Dear Experts,
I have a customer exit variable on Fiscal week which is not input ready but based on the Fiscal Year selection which is a prompt in the BEx query, my Fiscal week variable should populate the range of weeks automatically.
This functionality is working perfectly fine in Design Studio and Analysis for excel as they support the BEx variables even when they are not a part of BEx prompt, but in web intelligence I dont see any way to bring the customer exit variable without making them input ready.
Is this a limitation of web intelligence?
Any suggestions
Sumit
We have this issue as well. We need to have the Customer Exit Variable in BW "not ready for input" so the dates will automatically update in the WebI publications. We would like to view this on the WebI report as well so the users know what dates the Customer Exit is restricting to. We are able to show the fields when the variable is "ready for input" by using the "User Response" function on the WebI report. Is there a different function that can be used to show this variable on the WebI report?

I have just asked precisely the same question here:
https://answers.sap.com/questions/316227/webi-not-recognising-bw-variable-which-is-set-to-n.html
WEBI does not recognize my variables if they are set to be not ready for input.

Thanks Agata.
I tried this with Design Studio and Analysis for AFO without making the variable input ready and it works perfect fine.
But, in webi, the user doesnt want to have it in the prompts and this is causing the problem.
I am not sure whether this is an limitation of web intelligence.

Hi Agata,
I just fixed this issue now.
I restricted the Fiscal week dimension with the customer exit variable and add it as a free char in the query.
Then, I pulled that dimension in the report and choose the top and the bottom of the value and concatenate that in the week range format as per the requirement.
Hope that answers your question.

Sumit
hi,
Never saw that one before! So to clear it out BEx Variables should work perfectly for WebI reports as well.
Can you create a new WebI-document on that Bex Query and check your data again?
