Extension field with multi language support

Hi Community,

we do have the requirement to extend a standard BO with a list where we can enter a code and depending on language of the currently logged on user a description is supposed to be shown in that language on the UI. Also this description shall be printed on a form. Usually we would use a code list for this, but this cannot be used in this case, as the list must be populated by an external system using a webservice. Also we will have more then 1000 different possible values. Are there any ideas/experience out there?
