I have a few questions, #1. Where is the Crystal Reports program installed on a PC or on a server? #2. Does it need to be installed on the server that the database resides? #3. How does Crystel conect to the database that we want to design reports for? #4. How do we ensure Crystal reports does not change anything on the database or slow the system down? #5. What kind of Virus of Firewall protection is supplied.
Don,
Thank you, will we be able to print to multiple printers?

#1. Same on any PC:C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects
#2. No, DB Client handles all of the connection, CR assumes it is configured and working.
#3. ODBC, OLE DB, Native CR like Oracle, JDBC
#4. CR fully supports DB security, if you don't write custom functions or SQL Commands that allows changes then no issue. Not recommended to do anyways.
#5. CR does not supply any Virus or Firewall software, you need to configure access to the program.
