Shipment distance determinaton

Distance may be determined in a shipment using a route or Distance maintenance. Distance maintenance is desired for common carrier, but routes are desired when using private transportation.

If the ship from / to exist in both, the shipment will populate with the Distance value, but it is desired to come from the route when the agent is identified as PRIV.

Where in config can this be done?

    Hi,

    When u define routes u can define d distance n d duration 2 travel tht duration in the configuration itself.

    This can be done in Logistics Execution -> Transportation -> Basic Transportation functions -> Route determnation -> Define routes -> Define routes n stages.

    Here when u define routes u can define the distance covered in tht route, so when this route is picked in a shipment, automatically d distance defined for dis route also gets picked up.

      I appreciate your response and understand what you are saying; however, what I attempting to resolve is how to get the route to populate into the shipment based on forwarding agent.

      If forwarding agent is PRIV, use the route distance.

      If not PRIV, then it should go to the distance determination (this is what it is currently doing as a primary step).

    Hi,

    i guess it should be the other way round, coz u enter the forwarding agent manually and route is picked automatically, as maintained in route determination.

    So, basis the route picked u should give the forwarding agent.

      Hi Anabela

      Have you tried using the Shipping condition for determining the route?

      If Shipping condition = 01 then Route = Z00001

      If Shipping condition = 02 then Route = Z00002

      ................ and so on

      Use t Code VORF and check Influencing factors - Shipping conditions

      This may probbaly assist you for your issues- see below for example

    In my case, we use Railcar and the correct way to bypass distance determination is to modify /SAPDDS/0MRC - Maintain Relevance Conditions and /SAPDDS/0MDP - Maintain Distance Determ. Procedures
