MRP query

Hi ...

For a material I have Purchase Orders of 2000 pcs and now I established safety stock as 6000.MRP Type is "P1".There is no planned issue of inventory of this material.

I was expecting that MRP will will generate Order of 4000 pcs to make stock equal to safety stock but surprizingly system generates order of 6000 pcs.

Can anyone pls let me know the reason for that.

Hi,

MRP will make orders for 6000 pcs only because the safety stock is kept to prevent u in case of delay in delivery or more consumption than usual.

Whenevr ur requiremnts fall below 6000 it will generate the requirement whether u have any orders for it or nt.

Therefore wenever MRP will run it will complete the safety stock and ur requirements both so that the next time u order u need not use ur safety stock .

Please check the MRP 1 view of the particular material in material master.Please check whether you have given the lot size as <b>fixed lot size.</b> and also you might have maintained the fixed lot size as 6000
