yes, just write the assignment, so chose in the assignment window the lookup you need and choose the value or values to assign in the window that appears.
I do exactly as you say, but when I run the assignment on the multi-valued field, then Data Manager gives an error "Assignment operation failed" (if the field is not multi-valued - everything is ok)
None of following assignments for my multivalued field works:
