Hi Friends,

I have noticed an issue with the SAP material master (SRP and DRP). It appears that the material numbers are being assigned at the beginning of the transaction instead of upon Save, and if I start creating a material (transaction MM01) but don't save it, the material number is eaten. I don't recall ever seeing this happen in SAP before. Is this something you can fix? Let me know we have any oss notes ? Pls help me out......

Hi

Number ranges are created using the Tcodes SNUM and SNRO

and used for each application document

for certain documents number range is assigned internally and for certain number is assigned externally

this happens due to the fun module which is used to generate the numbers continuously

NUMBER_GET_NEXT in the relative program

Once the number is generated because of this fun module even if something wrong in the creation of the doc that number will get lost
