Cannot see empty roles when publishing

Hi all

On BW3.5 I have created a role which allows users to publish queries to existing roles. When trying to publish a query to a role, only the roles which currently have queries or other items assigned to them show. Those with no queries assigned cannot be seen. All necessary Roles have been assigned to my test user ID.

As an experiment I went through PFCG and added an item to one of the roles which was not appearing previously when attempting to publish. Now when I go to publish the role is there.

I do not want the users who will be carrying out this task to do it via PFCG I only want them to use query designer. am I missing something which makes these roles visible in query designer even though empty?

Many Thanks in advance for replies.

Tim

Thanks you for your response

It's not visible when I attempt to publish.

I don't think it is the role either. It has all necessary authorizations and my personal authorization level is SAP_ALL. I have every authorization to everything on the system and even then I still get the same problem when these roles are empty.

Does anyone know of any other parameter that may be affecting this?

the Role won't be visible on the initial screen if they are empty. but after you create a query and then when you are trying to save it thru Query designer, then you will be able to see all the roles including empty roles. recheck. once you populate the role with a query it automatically gets visible on initial role tab.

if it is not visible even when you are saving your first query to your role, then either you might missed adding the empty role to the user or forgot to add the role name in S_USER_AGR in the supporting role.
