Connect to a ERP system (JCO ?) and send a mail by portal application

Hello,

I'm doing a portal application to create user by UME API. I need to connect and call a BAPI from a R/3 system.

How can I call it JCO or can I use the R/3 connector that I have in the portal ?

Second time, how can i send a email in my portal application to user ?

Hi,

To see how a JCo works please establish a connection bw your SAP System and EP through SLD. then please go through this weblog which shows you step by step to call a RFC/BAPI from the backend system.

To send an e-mail you need to configure the Groupware Integration first. OR you can integrate your EP system with the e-mail application like MS outlook or lotus notes.
