The GTIN may not be assigned externally

Dear All,

I am not able to assign a GTIN number of 13 digits for category IE in Decentralized WMS system.

The GTIN 209NNNNNNNNNN may not be assigned externally

Message no. WE216

Diagnosis

You have entered an EAN or a UPC to which no external number range interval is assigned. This error may occur

•if only an internal interval or if no interval exists for the number you have entered

•if you have entered an alphanumeric EAN, and this number belongs to a number range interval of a number category for which no alphanumeric EANs are permitted

Procedure

Enter a valid number.

In the SAP ERP system, I am able to assign the same GTIN to the material.

I have checked and compared the Customization settings in the following activities and could see that all of them are in sync.

SPRO->IMG->Logistics-General->Material Master->Settings for Key Fields->International Article Numbers(EANs)

-> Define Number ranges for GTINs/GTINs

->Define attributes for GTINs/GTINs

Please suggest what could be the reason for this and how we can resolve the issue.
