Hi,

The major difference between internal order and Project system is.... Internal order is one dimensional whereas PS is multidimensional. That means you can maintain hierarchy in the project. Hierarchy and structure cannot be maintained in the Internal order.

Hi,

Internal order can not handle complex projects. Project structuring is a basis for successful planning, monitoring and controlling. Internal order not has such functionality. To manage project efficiently within time, budget, with available resources, project should be divided into manageable parts. In PS, projects can be divided into WBSE and helps project manager to schedule, cost, budget, and monitor and control the project, Project system has functionality to handle simple to complex project scenarios

Thanks,

Dear Muzamil

to add on what other have told, from planning, scheduling, controlling perspective Internal order is uni dimensional, i.e. for example if u r creating a internal order for "Construction of house" u can plan schedule control for the whole works as single entity.

In the case on project its multi dimensional, i.e. u can sub divide the work into shub activities as "Foundation", "Columns", " Slab", "Brick Work", "Flooring", etc, so that u can plan, schedule and monitor at that minute details.

So it depends on the requirement wether u have to plan, schedule, monitor so closely or at the top level iteself.

Hope it clears u doubts,

reward if useful

Hi

The major difference is that the internal order is a cost collector and you can't have any detailing where as the PS provides lot additional functionalities including logistics execution.
