Could not open file. Reason: Access Denied

Attached the screenshot for your reference.

We are unable to open the reports that is created in BI Platform Support Tool. We are getting the message: "Could not open file. Reason: Acces Denied (path:htm\AlertSummary_2017.09.19_12.31.27.html, working dir C:\Program File\BISupport\bin")

We have verified the location and observed that we have the required rights to open the file.

Client Machine:
Windows 7 Enterprise
SAP BI Platform Support Tool 2.0.7

Server Machine:
Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard
SAP BO BI Platform 4.1 SP06
Non-Clustered

In Landscape Configuration we have configured our BI Server and Web Application Server

We have not installed SAP Host Agent and Tomcat JMX Configuration

Hi Jacob,
Is it possible that you previously launched the BI Platform Support Tool by clicking "Run As Administrator"? But in this case, you are just running the tool as your normal windows user account? You should never have to start the BIPST client using 'Run As Administrator'.

If you browse to C:\Program File\BISupport\bin\htm and right click on AlertSummary_2017.09.19_12.31.27.html and choose properties, then Details tab, who is the file Owner? Is this the same account that you are currently running the BIPST client as? If you click on the security tab, what is the permissions for the Users group for this file? (For example Read, Read & Execute, etc)

You could try to set read/write permissions on the htm folder. Right click on C:\Program File\BISupport\bin\htm folder, choose security then click Advanced. Click Add and click "select a principal" and add your user account then grant full control. Then check the box "Replace all child object permission entries" and click ok.

Then try to view the report again.
