SAP Lumira Implementation

Dear All

We are currently analyzing the option to implement Lumira to suffice a Business need.

We currently have a physical server for BI Platform which is connected to our BW on HANA system providing reporting on WEBI and Design studio.

We plan to use the existing BI Platform to support reports created on Lumira as well instead of installing a new physical server for Lumira.

While exploring the topic over web we came across the option of "SAP Lumira,Server for BI Platform" addon which can help to meet the purpose.

Thus can any one please advice based on their existing experience/knowledge if it is possible to have a single physical server i.e. BI Platform which could support reporting on both BO tools and Lumira?

Hi Ashish,

I think technically it's possible to install LS4BIP (Lumira Server for BI Platform) -aka Lumira Server Edition- onto your existing BI Platform, so you can have BI Platform and Lumira in the same server. But practically it seems good idea or best practice for having a separate server for Lumira Server Edition due to the fact that Lumira is an in-memory data engine which requires a good size of memory. And it would be not easy to manage BI tasks and Lumira tasks for process performance on the same server.
