Unable to add Used DC of track1 to the DC of track2

Hi,

We are having two development tracks based on two different regions DC Track1 and DC track2. In DC track1 I have DC of type Deployable Proxy component and in DC Track2 I have DC of type Portal application. In My portal application DC, which is in track2 I want to add DC - deployable proxy of Track1 however I cant see option to access it in my NWDS. I can only see the Track2 SCs and DCs in the popup while adding the Used DC.

Please let me know how to fix this problem.

Hi Ritesh,

that's not a problem, that's how NWDI works. A track is a complete universe on its own. If you want to reference a DC it has to exist in the same track.

As long as the DCs are in different SCs I would just add the SC that contains the proxy as required SC to DC Track 2 and then assemble that SC in Track 1 and import it into DC Track 2.

May I know how I can "assemble that SC in Track 1 and import it into DC Track 2" using NWDS?

Currently my requirement is I need to some how add deployable proxy DC of Track1 as used DC for Portal DC in Track2, because I need Track1 DC for compilation of Track2 DC. Is there any thing I can do from NWDS?

Hi Ritesh,

you can't, at least not from NWDS. Track configuration and transports (including "asssembly" and "approval") is usually done through the WebUI of CMS.

Thanks for your reply. Can you please suggest me how I can use Web UI in CMS and fix this issue? What should I do if I have compilation depedency for DC2 in Track2 with DC1 in Track1? Any valid solution, apart from creating both in the same track? How can I develop both these DCs in parallel without any problem?
