Hi,
Company can be considered as the higher level entity. Take the example of Nestle, they have operations all around the world. So the company (client)is Nestle
In eache country, the legal formalities, accounting structure, taxation will be different. So we need to classify it into different company codes. so, Nesle india will be a company code, nesle UAE will be another.. so on
I think you are clear now.

Hi
<b>Company code" </b>is used for day to day operations in the SAP system & it represents a single legal entity for which the balance sheet has to be generated.
<b>"Company" </b>is used for consolidation purpose of financial statements. The "Company Codes" are assigned to a particular company & at "Company"level one can consolidately report its financial.

hi,
<b>company & company code:</b>
The smallest organizational unit for which individual financial statements can be drawn up according to the relevant commercial law.
A company can consist of one or more company codes.
All company codes within a company must use the same transaction chart of accounts and the same fiscal year
breakdown. The company code currencies can be different.
A company has one local currency in which its transaction figures are recorded.
company code is highest level of organisation unit in FICO
