Hello,
Can some help me split a characteristic, to take only the first 10 digit.
I have a char as Doc+company+year.
510000004345002014
I want to extract only the 10 digit.
Many thanks
Thanks both of you for the input but I don't have access to the Data warehouse. I have only access to Bex designer.
so in that level( Bex designer) I can't change it right. the only thing I can do for now is change it to key figure based on the Replacement Path and than I can extract the 10 digit.
Many thanks.

It's unclear if this is the case but if you are using a compound characteristic where the first 10 characters are the key, you can change the display settings of that characteristic to be "Key (Not Compounded)".
If not using a compound characteristic then Koen is correct in that you'll have to handle this in the model layer, presumably via a transformation that can extract those first ten digits into their own characteristic
