SAPUI5 - Variant Management - Save as Tile

Hi,

We implemented Variant Management as part of our UI5 application. When we try to save the variant, we don't find the option 'Save as Tile'. Is there any configuration that needs to be done ? Our requirement is to save variants for Tiles as a new tile.

Hi, It been years, but a few days ago I got the requirement and search out this question. Now, I workout and there are two solutions. One is to use the control "sap.ushell.ui.footerbar.AddBookmarkButton" which is warp everything you need like the dialog and 'bookmark' service. Or you could use 'bookmark' service based on your customized UI. You could found details with the doc.

something new I just found out. Within the Page Variant Management the option "showCreateTile" is available again. But in my first tests the tile was not created.

I am looking for this option as well. What I figured out so far is that there was an option "showCreateAsTile" for Variant Management but now it is commented as "Deprecated since version 1.32.0" without any new alternative. Maybe the functionality was deleted but I could not find anything in the changelogs.

Thanks for the information Jan. I am not able to find any other information related to this. Your points are helpful. I will try to convince my customer to say, it is deprecated.
