I am using crystal reports for the 1st time trying to create labels for one of our customers. I have the label created, I am just trying to see how to write a formula for a lot #. Our customer wants for example, our Supplier ID and lot # together. I wanted to see if we could have the supplier id set standard and auto fill in the lot # from IQMS.

Example: 5730-1. The 5730- is a supplier id that needs to be standard on every label. The 1 would be the auto-fill lot # from IQMS that we have set.

Need help creating this formula if possible.

Hi Dusty,

We'll need more information on how your data is set up but your formula would look something like:

"5730-" & {table.LotNo};

So the supplier ID is hard coded as a string. The {table.LotNo} would be the Lot Number from IQMS. If the Lot Number is stored as a number in the database then you can format it like:

"5730-" & ToText ({table.LotNo}, 0, "");

The ToText function converts a number to a string with no decimal places and no thousands separator.

Hope this helps,
