Hi Sir/Ma'am,

I would like to ask if I configured our SAP Router and run OSS1 in our SAP system/solman, do SAP will be able to view our data ( eg. Hostname, IP, Users, etc. ) . I'm going to configure our SOLMAN which is need SAProuter to be set and I said that it needs to connect to SAP, which she asked if there's any data from our side will be available/viewable to them. I need to confirm this before proceeding to Solman setup.

Hi Tan,

The System details (about your Solman and other SAP systems in your landscape) are already known to SAP through the System registration process (license key and system data maintenance).

Regarding the users in your Solman, SAP will know this information only when you provide them through the License Measurement.

SAP doesn't have authority to login to your system unless you ask them to via an open OSS message.

Also, OSS1 is only a connection test to prove that you can reach SAP..... its not establishing a permanent connection...

Hope that clarifies.

Hi Deepak,

One quick question, Do I need to run OSS1 first before running Tx OSS1?

I got internal server error 500 when im running solman_setup.

please review your reply as a sentence like this does not make much sense for me: "Do I need to run OSS1 first before running Tx OSS1"

Hi Jurgen

Sorry, I didnt notice @_@. Thanks that you have mention my error 😄

I have been stucked with this solman_setup.... this my quick question.

** Do I need to run OSS1 first before running Tx SOLMAN_SETUP.

I'm doubting if I missed some prequisuite configuration before running solman_setup, as per checking in the guide OSS1 was not mentioned.

Hi Tan,

Basically you need to make sure that your SAPROUTER is fully setup and the connectivity to SAP is established.

Then based on the connectivity option with SAP, you go into transaction OSS1, enter the saprouter details and do the connection test. You should get a box with various options for connecting to SAP (but here just cancel and come out). This means the connection test is successful.

Now you can start with SOLMAN_SETUP.

Note: Please note that the mandatory configuration steps in Solman_Setup also checks whether the above pre-requisites exists.

Hope this is now clear.

Thanx

Deepak
