I have been asked to send all outgoing SMTP mail with TLS encryption.

I was provided a username and password for the relay mail server, however, The password field in SAP only allows 20 characters. My password is 30 characters and im told they will not allow shorter.

Where could I extend that? Its not the profile parameters password settings is it?

Hello Joshua,

Could you please advise which parameter you were editing exactly? What was the error you received?

Thank you,

Let me clarify this question and answer since I posted.

What I've been trying to do is enable TLS encryption in SCOT. When you enable TLS , you supply a password on the screen.

That field only allows 20 character password. The password provided to us is mandatory 40 characters,.

We made the field length longer by the following method: T-CODE SE11

Enter Table Name SXNODES and click display

Double click on the data element SX_PASSWORD

Double click on the domain SX_PASSWORD and click the change button, change length from 20 to 40.

Click Save and then Activate button
