Removing Local Host Roles failed

Dear Experts,

Currently with HANA Database, we're struck with the error Removing Local Host Roles failed during removal of smart data Streaming role using console Interface or Graphical Interface methods as a prerequistic for uninstalling Smart data Streaming using console Interface or Graphical Interface.

Currently, we have HANA version 122.02 (revision 122 with patch 2)

For more error Information, refer the hdblcm.log in attachment.

Any ideas, please?

Thanks & best regards,

Sreenu

Hi Sreenivas,

You had previously asked this question under the old SCN and the last post from that thread was:

___________________________________________________________________________________

What version of HANA and SDS are you using?

If you are using SPS12, then apparently it is now possible to remove a local role. The documentation for doing so is here:

Remove the Smart Data Streaming Role Using a Graphical Interface - SAP HANA Smart Data Streaming: In...

and here

Remove the Smart Data Streaming Role Using a Console Interface - SAP HANA Smart Data Streaming: Inst...

Assuming that you are using SPS12 and encountering this error when attempting to remove the local role then you should open a Support incident to properly investigate it.

However if you are using SPS11 or lower, then the ability to remove a local role did not exist and you would have to uninstall and reinstall HANA."

I can see from your updated question that you are now using SPS 12, Revision 122.02. Was that always an SP12 system or did you perhaps upgrade from SP11 or below?

In either case, since the ability to remove a local role is a documented, supported feature of SPS12, I would recommend opening a Support case to investigate this issue and ensure that is properly tracked.

Thanks

Rob
