Incompatibility Question

Hi,

As i have understood it, we have a scenario with ECC 5.0 and planning installation of EP NW04s

In this case deploying an ESS/MSS package for ECC 5.0 will be incompatible with 04s

As a solution,we place a WAS 04 in between the ECC 5.0 and 04s to deploy applications/BP.

My question is, can we connect to a WebDynpro application deployed on another WAS( 04) from the Portal

which sits on 04s.I hope i have got the requirement right.
