In the WPTST POS Processing Log Table I occasionally come across update status 'H' (VERBUCHUNG = 'H') in the case of WPUBON idoc. The sales receipts within the start and end segments in the status 'H' record becomes available for edit in the transaction WPER.
Under what conditions does the IDOC_INPUT_POS_SALES_DOCUMENTS program write a status 'H' record into WPTST and how does it determine which segments qualify for the status 'H'?
From what I notice, update status 'F' records in WPTST bookmarks the sales receipts within the start and end segments so that reprocessing the WPUBON idoc will filter for those receipts. However, when status 'H' record is also present, the reprocess also processes the segments in the status 'H' records. Issue is that the segments in the status 'H' record also covers the segments that were successfully posted in the previous process, hence causing duplicate postings.
Any insights that help me understand what the update status 'H' means will be much appreciated.

Hi Lucia,
The update status 'H' means there was an error in header.
To be complete: 'P' means error in position, and 'F' means error in a flush function.
(The most common case is having the 'F' type.)
Regarding your question about duplicate postings, I would need to take a look at your system, and debug the processing.
Best regards,
Andras
