Operating system call recv failed ( error no. 10054 )

Dear Experts,

My sap server system log was full of these 2 error msg since my oversea users complained to me about the slow response and frequent SAPGUI disconnection encountered by them recently.

1.)Operating system call recv failed (error no. 10054)

2.)Connection to user xxxx (username). terminal xx (Computer name) lost.

It only happened to my other countries users. My local LAN users never complain about this. I suspected the ISP caused the problem. I checked with them many times but they said there is nothing wrong with their network. I check with my SAP consultant also they said ISP problem.

So pls help...My sap server is running on windows platform, ECC6, MS SQL 2005 DB.Pls teach and guide me how can i solve this problem and improve my sap server performance?

hello,

one can see these log messages in sm21 , same in my case also. this happens when a user terminal lost the connection . like in my case my users are located about 5km - 2400km and connected via SAP router , so when they log-on through there local ISP some times the connections can't be a dedicated one so the terminal losses the connection.

SAP provides a good way to roll back all the requests (db updates)if user is doing at that instance.

I sorted this issues over a time of months.

it's will never affect your system performance !! be relaxed

At the current time my system is running really slow and I'm getting a lot of paging file errors even though my paging file max is above the recommended size. Along with the Operating system call error I'm getting the error "Communication error, CPIC return code 020, SAP return code 223". This seems to be occuring constantly between my portal server and my DEV server. Any ideas? Any help would be extremely appreciated!
