Creation new sales documents

Hi Experts,

Can any one tell what is the reason for creation of new sales document types. Insted of using standard one.

As I know that we dont disturd stardard document types.

Exept document type and description what r the other settings generally we change.

    Hi,

    there are many scenario's we use customized document types. If the company is dealing with different kind of products, with and without warranty, servicable goods, some of the export scenarios, etc.... the company opt for customised documents.

    Hi Sasi,

    In case you need to change any configuration, to meet your client's requirement related to sales document type, it is advised to make a copy from the standard document type and then go ahead with the changes.

    We had a different number series required for the sales document so we created our own document type. In addition we have a mandatory reference required for the sales document.

    Hi Sasikanth,

    Hope aware of that, we will be having many controls in Sales Document types.

    Ex;- Number Ranges

    Incompeletion

    Credit Management

    Delivery Type

    Billin Type

    Pricing Procedure

    P.O Number Mandatory ect.,

    In this if the client is asking for specific requirements like Number Ranges,

    Its Mandatory P.O Number While Creation of Sales Order.

    Mandatory Field Requested Delivery Date,

    To make above said, We can Copy Existing Standard one and we can rename it as per the client requirement and configure them as per the client requirement.

    by doing this standards will not distrub.

    Hi Sasikanth,

    There might be business requirements which none of the existing order types cater to but nevertheless you need that functionality.

    Any Sales Document Type.

    if you go through

    Sales and Distribution->Sales->Sales Documents->Sales Document Header->Define Sales Document Types

    You will see the list of document types available with your system.

    Choose any one of them and you will see lot of settings as told in the previous reply.

    You can create a new order type and go and change those settings to act according to your business need.

    That is where a new order type comes into picture.
