Where's the 'SAP Replication Server' community?

SAP has 2 different 'replication' products (that I know of) ... SLT and SRS.

While I can find the SLT community, I'm unable to find the SRS community, eg:

Community > Browse the Community > search for 'replication' shows only

"SAP Landscape Transformation replication server"

Where's the "SAP Replication Server" community?

NOTE: At least I was able to find the "SAP Replication Server" tag (thank goodness for small miracles!)

Mark, take a look at this post, it explains that not every tag has a "community page": https://answers.sap.com/articles/30434/the-next-thing-people-seem-to-be-finding-confusing.html

I'm still a bit fuzzy myself on how are we supposed to navigate among many tags but, fortunately, I usually follow more popular space/tag/community/whatever such as ABAP. And I was able to create the bookmarks, like in this blog. I hear that some kind of a tag catalog with links should be available in a few days.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jelena,

In case you haven't been directed to it already, there is now a list of tags and associated tag pages (from which you can follow the tag) on the About Tags page.

The only thing I see at the URL is a link to download an Excel spreadsheet of tags.

I don't see anything that remotely resembles an option to search for (or manually enter) a tag let alone allow me to 'follow' a tag.

Others have already commented on this 'great idea', but I'm gonna beat that dead horse into a puddle of glue ...

? Why can't the 'master' list of tags be made available online?

? Why do I have to download a schtinkin' Excel spreadsheet?

? How often am I going to have to (re)download the Excel spreadsheet in order to get an up-to-date list of tags?

And, no, I have not downloaded the Excel spreadsheet nor do I have any plans to download said spreadsheet.

Seeing how SAP/Sybase Replication Server (SRS) is a standalone product, and had quite a bit of info/links on the old SCN forum, I find it a bit hard to fathom why SLT would have it's own community page but SRS does not ... *grumble*

While I'm (finally) figuring out the tag concept, there are a lot of holes in the current implementation ... tag management ... thread/topic visibility and presentation ... (to me) definitely a few steps back from what we had with the old SCN. I'd much rather they had fixed the old SCN (eg, fix the damn search engine)! :-)

For people (as me) that don't know the "tag" is "SAP Replication Server" and the tag for questions only is this.

Good luck.

SLT has a tag and a community page.

SRS has 2 main tags (SAP Replication Server, Sybase Replication Server), a half-dozen associated tags, but no community page.

Forgot "community page". That's dissapear ;)

If the community page disappears then you lose a common point of reference for all things SAP that do not fall under the category of 'blog' or 'Q&A', like links to documentation, links to (developer) software downloads, links to webcasts, etc.

Or does SAP intend to make it even harder for folks to find related materials, eg: Use our 'Search' feature and then scroll through 50K hits to see if you can find what you're really looking for? :-)

SAP seems to be giving hard time to all folks who use products that came from Sybase.

SAP HANA treatment/coverage seems to have overpowered robust products like Sybase ASE, Sybase IQ, Sybase ASA.

Similarly many folks coming from SAP Business Suite/ABAP background seem to be barely aware of Sybase replication offerings like RS (with really advance features), ECDA, etc.
