Asset Class to Asset Category

Im just wondering if there is anywhere where a link is created or mapping exists between an asset class and an asset category in ECC?

I can see that on the set up of a WBS, you add the class and category independent of each other, but is there any validation to prevent a particular class being used with a particular category?

Reason I am asking is that a user has requested a report showing a list of asset classes with their useful life (which I have got from ANKB) along with a linked asset category too. As far as I can tell, there isnt a place / table where this is stored / maintained and a relationship simply exists on an individual WBS basis. Is this the case?

You can create a validation in OACV checking for allowed combinations of asset class with asset category. You would need to have a user-defined table to maintain those combinations, as it's not something foreseen by standard AA module.
