Error sending mail message to SMTP server. Return code: 3

For one report with an Excel file in excess of 7Mb I get the message below.

All other excel files which are usually less than 2Mb are emailed without issue.

Error Message:

write error. [CrystalEnterprise.Smtp]: [Error sending mail message to SMTP server. Return code: 3.]

Report runs and downloads as Excel without any problem, it only fails when scheduled to email.

Since you din't provide any details on what product you are using, i'm guessing it is some sort of a Business Object product (crystal server)...
The error indicates that your SMTP server refused to send large file.
You need to talk to your mail server admin to resolve this.

It was Crystal Report Server, and we had decided it was a file size issue.
