Calculated Columns action block throws SAXParseException error to MII log on every execution

We are running MII version 15.1 service pack 3 patch level 16 / NetWeaver 7.5. We use the calculated action block heavily in our production environment and had to turn off this error from showing up in the MII log in the NetWeaver configuration.

This is an easily repeatable error:

  1. Create a transaction and insert an XML Document action block with at least one column (it doesn't matter what variable type you use)
  2. Add a row to the document using the XML Row action
  3. Add a Calculated Columns action block to the transaction and define a calculated column against the XML you created
  4. Save and run the transaction
  5. On the MII home screen, look at the Log Viewer under System Management, you will see the SAXParseException error

I could not find a SAP note to fix this error.

Hi Eric,

SAP must rectify this error/bug in their upcoming releases. It happens in all the XML Functions action blocks and SAP MII XML Row action blocks. What SAP explains is to ignore this as of now as it will not cause any error in the application.

However you can avoid this in case of XML actions by assigning the input xmls using "link editor" instead of "configure".

Regards,

Austin
