C4C Cloud datasource maximum of 60 characters per uploaded field?

Hi experts,

my client wants to set up cloud datasources in SAP Hybris C4C and upload fields that have a longer length than 60 characters (such as comments, etc.). Currently we cannot find a way to allow for those longer comments to be properly uploaded into the cloud datasource; is there a way to allow this? Thanks in advance.

(Note: this is a different issue from https://archive.sap.com/discussions/thread/3775458)

I am not sure if this is relevant but you can try using “LANGUAGEINDEPENDENT_ENCRYPTED_EXTENDED_Name” which will have the length of 765 chars(more than regular 255) on the data base. Note that it will not work in XBOs.

Thank you for your input Prasanth. Is this a variable or something? And where should I use that format; the input file is an Excel worksheet with survey questions of which some exceed the maximum of 60 characters and are thus cut off in mid text.

Apologies, the above is a data type , which is used in PDI .
Nevertheless , after seeing your scenario , I see that the response from

https://archive.sap.com/discussions/thread/3775458 is still valid

From what I understood is that

Fields on user interfaces where you enter transaction or master data can support longer lengths than the fields when they are used in the Analytics framework.

Due to the large amount of data to be processed, the Analytics framework of the solution supports a value length of 60 characters.

Value lengths that are longer than 60 characters are cut off. If the first 60 characters of the values are the same, the solution considers the values to be the same, and, for example, aggregates them accordingly.

Thank you Prasanth. So there is no way to circumvent this issue? We have to built the input Excel files around 60 characters? Sorry if I'm being difficult; I'm just starting in C4C 🙂
