Folders : ...\SYS\exe\nuc & ...\SYS\exe\uc - ?

I've got SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.0 SP12 on Windows Server 2003.

What's the difference between the folders c:\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\exe\uc\NTI386 and c:\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\exe\nuc\NTI386 ?

The problem is - windows user <SID>adm profile was failed. So, I need to restore an Environment Variables of <SID>adm user. Fortunately, I've got another Portal, with the same SP and OS. But the 2d Portal has another file structure! It has ..\SYS\exe\uc and ..\SYS\exe\nuc as well. The 1st Portal doesn't have ..\SYS\exe\nuc (only \uc).

And, the 2d Portal has variable SAPEXE = C:\usr\sap\<SID>\SYS\exe\nuc\NTI386 .

Need I set the variable in 1st Portal, and to which path?

Thanks,

Evgeny.

uc - means "unicode"

nuc - "nonunicode"

and points for location of the unicode/nonunicode kernel (depends which is used on your system), so you need to set SAPEXE to corresponding location for your system.

To restore <sid>adm environment you can also look in registry for key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SAP\<SID>\Environment

this is a copy of <sid>adm environment, that is created during the service start

best regards
