Info package

Hi,

I created a process chain that loads from an ods to cube both are full loads.

i included the Full load info package for the cube but when i run the Process chain the system creates 3 more info packages to the info source which are Init Delat and full and the process chain loads a Init load that the system created and then the Full load that is in the process chain. so when i look at the contents of the cube i always have 2 similar records.

Can someone help me fix this issue.

Hi kim s

Jus make sure of your requests in the cube and go to the ODS observe the data

flow if its not updating to other targets then u can jus go throght the ODS

SETTINGS and remove update automatically flag. If its updating to some other

targets n that case also just remove the update automatically to targets setting

and place job which will trigger after the activation and it will triggera pak as per

the schedule..!

Hope itz clear.

Thanks

Hey actually the ODS settings doesnt have it but the process chain had it so i dropped it anbd now it works. I have another concern now since the load from the ODS to the CUbe is a full load i alwasy have duplicate records so should i create a delta info pack and then run it? But can you explain me how a delta works? Do i need to create a Init pack and do a init first and then load the deltas?

Thanks,

Of course you will have many and many duplicate records in your cube since you have a full load from ods to cube. Full load means, you are getting all the data from ods to cube even if it exist in cube in the prior load. To avoid this, you need either delete the prior request in cube before loading data from ods or do init load from ODS to cube and delta going forward.

Procedure:

Clear everything in cube first.

Init from ODS to cube.

Then Delta.

thanks.

If u have request 1. request 2 in the DSO n u run a Full to Cube from DSO it will pull both the requests ( 1 + 2 ) - There may be aggregation of data though.

If on the next day request 3 comes n sits in DSO - a delta load from DSO to Cube will only pull request 3.

uncheck the "update data automatically" in the ODS maintenance. You will find that in ODS settings tab.

Voodi,

It is unchecked. actually i m only creating the Process chain part of an existing data flow.

fore example: The ODS gets 1026 records for the full load and since the process chain is doing an init and also a Full load one after the other for the same process kick off the cube has 1026 from the init load and then plus 1026 again from the full load. Isnt the load suppose to be a delta because the cube always adds up the records to the previous number?

and the second thing i dont understand is that when i am only including the full oad in the PC why is the system creating a init and then doing a inti load and then doing the full load that i included. The init and the Full are both happeing for the same prcess kick off.

every time i kick off my Pc the cube has a init and then the full and for the second time i kick the Pc it has a delta and then a full load i m confused.

Please help.
