JCOProxy error while calling a RFC

Hi,

When i tr to call a RFC "CBIF_GLM1_BATCH_READ", i get a fatal error. The error message is:

"JCOProxy error: Problem retrieving JCO.Function object."

When i checked if i was able to connect to any of the functions other than BAPI's i got the same error.

Is there something that i need to turn on in SAP?

I am using SAP xMII 11.5.3 SR03 and SAP 4.7 Enterprise.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Ram

Ram,

Goto TCode se37 and check to make sure that the RFC is Remote Enabled, the other way to check is if it shows up in the search in the JCO action configuration.

If the RFC is remote enabled, then make sure you have permissions to access it, permissions for browsing and accessing are different.

Hope this helps.

Sam,

I checked in SAP and the function is remote enabled. When i configure my JCO Action i am able to see this function. The error ocurs when i go to configure the request and response links.

I tried executing the function from SAP and was succesful.I am not sure if some functionality needs to be enabled in SAP.

Thanks,

Ram

Ram,

Sorry, but I'm confused as to exactly when the error occurs, are you getting this while using the link editor or when you generate the Request/Response documents from the configuration? If it's during the req/resp document generation then it due to a bad JCO server setting, IP, Sysnum, Client...etc.

Sam,

The error happens when generating a requst/response document.

Using the same setting, i am able to generate req/resp documents for some BAPI's.

For example,

i am able to generate req/resp documents for BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE,BAPI_BATCH_GET_DETAIL.

Thanks,

Ram,

I tried loading this RFC, CBIF_GLM1_BATCH_READ, using my version of xMII 11.5.3 and it worked without a problem. Are you sure that this RFC was not modified in your system that causes it to not work properly? Also, when you tested the RFC in se37 did you try to run it without setting any parameters? What about using the Web DynPro interface to see if it generates the XML properly? Just a couple of things to look into, but I know it's not xMII. If you did modify the RFC you will have to restart the ServletExec service to clear the xMII JCO API cache. Hope this helps.

Thanks Sam! I re- started the xMII- Servlet Exec service and everything's working fine.

Thanks again for your help.
