I need to install SQL2000 sp4 on Windows intel x64, it is supported. What version of WAS 640 I need to install on x64 ?

(There is ony AMD64 kernel, no Intel x64 kernel)

X86_64 = AMD6 = EM64T

so, in your case, use AMD64. it is fully compatible (I tested this myself 6 months back)

Dear Eric,

Is there a note or document that proves that on "Windos 2003 x64", an AMD kernel

should be installed ?

Please advice,

Dimitry

Assuming that you use Oracle check

407314 - Released operating systems SAP R/3 kernel 6.x ORACLE

Check on the bottom of the page.

as of WAS 6.40 on 64-bit platform there is only 64-bit kernel supported

see herehttp://service.sap.com/PAM

select NW04 for details, than "Database platforms"

you can use 64-bit kernel on x64(AMD64) platform, but your database will remain 32-bit

if you have possibility, better to use SQL Server 2005, that can run 64-bit

best regards
