Stop netting for semi finished materials

Hi all,

We are still using 46C. We have finished goods that are configurable and we use SUPERBOMs to pick the component that go along with the finished goods. I have a requirement where I have to stop the netting process for some semi finished materials in a certain storage location. We currently use strategy group '40' for semi finished.

I tried to use storage location MRP indicatior (MRP 4 view, sloc indicator). By doing so MRP stopped the netting which is what I wanted but it also stopped creating any new planned orders.

I want planned orders to be created but MRP should not read the stock. For example if the requirement is of 10 pcs and I have lets say 6 in stock, I still need planned order of 10.

I am more leaning toward writing a Z program to wipe out the inventory every night before the MRP run but was curious to see if there is any strategy group that I can use on the components to satisfy my needs.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Regards

Srikant

    Hi Srikant

For this situation you can go for a User Exit! while MRP run

    1. first create a user defined field in the material master for Unrestricted stock exclusion.

2, create the User exit which should be used while plant level MRP run.

the user exit should select materials for exclusion of SLOC stock.

for those materials you can use the following logic in the user Exit

if the Unres stock is availbale then then user exit should dynamically create a safety stock value so that MRP will neglect the Unrestricted stock and create the Proc Proposal for full quantity.

    hope this helps

    Hi Guys,

Thanks a lot for the response. The strategy group 11 (Gross requirement planning) works when I have a planned independent requirement. I created the Planned independent requirement using MD61 and also put in requirement type BSF. The problem is that when the demand comes from the finished goods parent level (Make to order, Strategy group 25) then it doesnot creates the planned order.

I am guessing that it is because the requirement type for the dependent reqirement type is not BSF. I am not able to figure out on how to change the requirement type to BSF when the demand is coming out from the higher level finished goods item

Thanks a lot for your help.

      Hi Srikant,

As you are using Strategy 40 for Semi-finished material the system will not create planned order directly if you have Sales order for Finished material.

If the PIR can meet the demand for the semi-finished material, no planned order will be created. It would be fulfilled from the existing Planned order. If the demand exceeds the PIR for the period, then only MRP will create the planned order.

Hope the above information helps you. Let me know if you need any additional information.

    Hi srikant.

is it possible to extend semi finshed material to one more storage location. if so as u said already, exculde the storage location u dont want to consider in MRP view.

Now sytem will create planned order in new storage loaction as per your demand " if there is no enough stock at new one"

    regards

    Hi

give individual/ coll. indicator 1 for finished and semifinished products.

and if we run mrp for finished material it will not consider the stock for the semifinished and gives a planned order for the required quantity.

please get back if it works or not

    thanks
