Contract release strategy not triggered with version management

Dear All,

The business requirement is to configure contract release strategy and additionally if any line item changes made in the contract line items for example any line item added or deleted the release strategy should be retriggered or reset. I found that activation version management would be only standard option without any enhancement.

Normally release strategy works fine if the version active indicator is set release strategy is not triggered. Please suggest.

if you got an approval to spend 1000$ then you do not need to ask for approval to spend less. And this simple logic that does any family for itself at home is responsible that no release strategy is triggered when the quantity or value gets reduced.

Have you used characteristics as version number in your release strategy ?

Thanks for reply. After characteristics (REVNO) added as 00000000 & 00000001 the release strategy is triggered but requirement is if any new line item added or existing line item deleted the release strategy should be reset. But that doesn't work. Is that feasible only by activating version management. Kindly suggest.

The reset release strategy will work as explained in this oss note 1961482.

By the way, I hope you are aware of the criteria about the reset release strategy.

If you want toreset your release strategy by version number, then you have to create release strategy for each version numbers and use changeable indicator as 6.

Yes read the note still doesn't help. Since if i remove the version related settings the release strategy works. If i set version settings in contract the system message "Purchasing document not subject to release strategy". Please suggest.
