What is the SAP Recommended tool for reporting on mass data

My client is running SAP BW/BOBJ (4.1) on HANA (SPS 12)

Time and again we have hit the wall when we are asked to create BI reports that involve huge data volumes (say 100,000 - which I do not think is too much), for the frontend options we have Analysis for Office which has the rather infamous 9 million cells limitation, apart from that we have Webi which throws the ugly Java Heap Space error (WIS 00000) when I try to crank a report with big numbers, we have Lumira 1.30 desktop version which I have not tried yet, but the question I am asked time and again is "What is, (or rather is there) an SAP reporting tool that could report on large volumes of data sitting in the BW backend.

A google search returns some third-party tools whose claims I take with a pinch of salt and could not justify the extra cost to the client.

All Recommendations or perhaps an open discussion is welcome

are you talking about reading and processing a huge number of records, or about displaying a huge number of records?

Hi,

Webi and CRE should have no problem with 100K records. Deski was used to work with millions of records and might work in DCP mode though it is not SAP recommended thing.

Regarding Java Heap Error you need to move to 4.2 as first BOBJ 4.1 releases were crap.
