Installing Solution Manager on another Instance

Hi Guys,

I'm attempting to install solution manager on another SAP System (Development) without configuring LPAR.I did some of the preparation and there's some method that are still confusing :

1. When I setup using the sapinst.exe in the cd which i've copied into a temp directory, will it affect my DEV database or will it create a new DB?

2. after I click it, i noticed that it creating a new directory (Rootbin) which almost the same with Root directory, will it delete the directory by itself after i finished with the installing?

Tq in return

I've a same configuration, a dev host with Solution Manager, ECC dev & ECC qas on the same host.

Pay attention to use a different <SID> for you SOLMAN and use different system number ... different fron already exist system.

SAPINST create a new libraries so SOLMAN will complte indipendent from ECC.

Pay attention to pacth SAPinst as described in installatio notes.

Rootbin should be delete when installation ends fine. You can run simply CMD to do this, read installation documentation o iSeries.

    Bye.
