    Hi sundeep,

Product hierarchies are used to group products and we can assign them to applications(Sales,Purchasing,Product) and we can also assign them to relevent Pricing hierarchies.

You need to maintain the relevant sales organization using PPOMA_CRM.

You can create Catalogue based on product hierarchies, which is used in CRM online in webshop for personalized view of consumer.

Info about these hierarchies will be stored in tables.

    a)Comm_category

    b)comm_hierarchy

    Hope this helps.

      Hi Sudeep,

W.r.t to CRM Product Hierarchy and Category

      1. They basically determine the <b>screens, tabs, set types , attributes</b>.

      2. In order to add new attributes to the Product, we make use of product hierarchy and categories.

      Steps to do the same:

      1. Tcode: COMM_ATTRSET: Create attributes

      2. Tcode: COMM_ATTRSET: Create Settype and assign the attribute to it.

      3. Tcode: COMM_HIERARCHY: Create a hierarchy and category

Assignt the set type to it, and specify which tab they should be visible.

In Tcode: COMMPR01 assign the Hierarchy and category to the Product.

This will get the new attribute which u have created in the product master.

    Sudeep,

If it is w.r.t R/3 Product Hierarchy...

    1. The R/3 Product Hierarchy are basically meant to categorise the Products.

    2. They are dowloaded into CRM as R3PRODHIER hierarchy. For this the pre- requisite is you maintain the Hierarchy levels ( 5, 5, 8) in the customizing of CRM.

    3. The Hierarchy levels are represented as categories.

If you observe the Base hierarchy R3PRODSTYP( they represent the material types of R/3) is the only one which determines the screen.

The rest two R3MATCLASS ( this represents the material group of R/3)& R3PRODHIER ( represents the Product Hierarchy of R/3)are only meant to classify the products.

<b>Use</b>:In a business transaction, instead of assigning individual Product Id, u can assign the Product hierarchy and its category value ...this in turn will determine all the products which belong to that category.

    Wish the information is useful.

    Shalini Chauhan

    HI

Product hierarchy is used basically for Pricing and Evaluation, eventhough the other person explained correctly but it is purely technical, can understand who already worked on this , but iam giving you a general Answer ,so Basically Product hierarchie contains Parent and Child or subsidary Account Parent product

and asubsidary product like for ex if you take shaving kit parent product is Raser, remaining all are child products like shaving ceam , etc... but categrization will come in the case of Individula products are called Products and Group of Individual Products are called one item means all the individual products comes under one

category like TV , radio, washing mac ec all will come under one Item catageory

Home appliances, Paste, soap , powder etcx.. all r the individual products comes under diifrent itemcategory called consumer goods so Item catogeries are difned for this purpose,

    Hi Sudeep

Have a look at the link

Hierarchies allow you to create classification structures showing the relationships between categories. A hierarchy is constructed like a tree structure with a root category that includes all other categories. The root category is the highest-level node within the hierarchy and does not generally contain any control information.

The link to understand it better is

    Hope this will help
