Like the question states - I know that we can launch the applications in local mode and then just use local embedded server and same wifi network to access it from any mobile device via qr code. But my question is can we access an app depyloied on BO/NetWeaver platform in the same way without installing any additional apps (like BI Mobile) ?

Hi Magdalena,

Although SAP recommends viewing Design Studio applications via the SAP BI Mobile native app, technically it is possible to view a Design Studio application from the BI Launchpad accessed directly from the browser of a mobile device. Here is a live demo of such a scenario if you'd like to try for yourself:

Hi Mustafa.

I see I can acces your link without any issues on all of my devices. But what is the data source for that dashboard? Could I do the same (as in get an accesible for everyone link ) on a dashboard based on SAP BW source?

Best Regards.

Hi Magdalena,

The data source for the dashboard in the example link I provided is based on SAP BW. There are some points that you should consider:

1) The ability to consume a Design Studio dashboard on a mobile device via the BI Launchpad is not something that is configured directly in Design Studio. Your System Administrator will need to make sure the BI Launchpad is externally accessible over the internet or via VPN;

2) You will also need to make sure your Design Studio applications are developed to specifically support a responsive design suitable for mobile devices. The demo example I have provided uses the mySmartApp extension to achieve this. In Lumira Designer 2.0 you can also use the new Adaptive Layout Container to achieve a responsive design.

Regards,

Mustafa.
