Hello BO users,

Do you know how to freeze the selected values of the input control?

The reason is that the user have to reselect the values each time after he re-opens the report.

It wouls save gim time when he does not need to.

Via BO launchpad the user can run the report.

More users can activa the report.

It is a webi version 4.1.

Hello Ami and Sven,

@Ami. Thanks for your response. I was thinking that this will be the only solutio.

@Sven. Thanks again. Standard input values would be a solution if the group of users where the same.
But this is not the case. For example. A role frim the north region only wants to see data from the north. As the same rule existsfor therole frim the south region. The same report is also uaedby the boss of the north and south and like to see the results of both together. That is the catch.
So if a rolefrom the north use standard values....
Itwill affect the role from the south (user) and the boss of two roles.....UNLESS....

You can refer standard values to a user ID.
That would be an epic solution. 🙂 But i doubt that is possible.

What doyou think Sven?

Hi Lucaz,

a proof and most easiest way is to use Analysis Authorizations. But I don't know yet, what kinda data source you are using in your WebI-Report. Why don't ya design the report in seperate versions (south, north, management) and use there the standard values (in different ways). At least you use front-end permissions for the variant groups of users for different report folders and nobody will notice that they are not using the same report.

So you will have your epic solution for different users 😉

Hello Lucaz,

You know centralized report are normally build in a universal data style, so that everybody (of the circle of allowed users) can narrow down them their own way. Is there for you a way to use standard values in the input controls? Furthermore what kinda data source did you use for the report. The key will be to use default values or permissions.

Hello Sven,

Standard values are indeed an option if the usergroup is uniform.
For example thery are member of the same part of the organization.
But in the case is the self-aservice report available for more usergroups.
They are member of the other part of organization, but they are looking to same data for benchmark purposes.
Otherwise i have split the report. That is a workaoround.

Thank you for your support. I will closse the call.

Regards, Lucaz.

As of now there is no way to save last value selected in the input control without saving the report.only work around is to user save the copy in local folder and use in future the same.

Hello Amit,

Thank you for the response. I was also thinking that this was maybe the only way.
I had hoped that there was an smart solution for this.
Thank you for the clarification.

Hello Sven,

Thanks You for the quick response.

The user can indeed not save the ".wid" file.

Only in otherwise filetypes.

There are more people who are using the same report. I mean only the allowed users. The report is centralized.

Otherwise they have to store it local. But the risk is that they will miss upgrades on the central report.

That is the reason for the question concerning freezing. So i understand that freezing values with multiple users is nog possible?

Hi,

so I think the user is not allowed to save the report, right? The problem is, if more then this special user is consuming the report, it probably make no sense to save this value. Otherwise you have the possibility to set a standard value if it's a input control.
