Hi All,
I was wondering whether anyone can help with the following query. We are currently working with a customer, and the requirements have (predictably) recently changed, and we need to find a solution quickly.
The customer has SAP ECC6 EHP 5, which sits on a DB2 database, we understand that SAP licence generally restricts all customers from having direct access to the database level without a separate contract for the DB access. Does anyone have any information on licence restrictions and/or costs for the database access licence.
We currently use Attunity and are licenced to connect to DB2 access under that agreement. If we can connect to the SAP instance directly it will save us a lot of pain and expense. We would consider the purchase of the licence if it isn’t too prohibitive – but have no idea how much this might be.
Any information greatly appreciated.
Hi,
the terms and conditions of the SAP DB2 OEM license are detailed out in SAP note 1260217. If you want to use your DB2 database for any other purpose you need to contact an IBM sales rep to extend your license.
I can not give you any idea how much extra cost this would generate. This will depend on the exact use case you have in mind.
Regards
Frank
