hi,
gurus,
what are the client independents with respect to MATERIAL MANAGEMENT,
and what are the client dependents,
pls give me some examples,
thanks in advance
Hi
If u have different clients (for example 200, 210 and 220) in a single server , most of the configuration settings are client dependent . This means if u do some changes client 200 , it won't get reflected in 210 or 220 . This is called client dependent.
Most of the abap developments developments are client independent .This means if do some development in client 200 , the same is avl in 210 and 220 ...
In brief customising requests are client dependent and workbench requests are client independent....
Pls go through following links for more input.

Hi,
Is this question related to MM or ABAP
In ABAP client dependents and independents has different meaning
Whereas in MM
In commercial, organizational, and technical terms, a self-contained unit in an SAP system with separate master records and its own set of tables. A client can, for example, be a corporate group.
General material data applicable to the entire company is stored at client level. This includes, for example, the material group, base unit of measure, material descriptions, and conversion factors for alternative units of measure.
The data stored at client level is client specific and Tables in which this data is stored is also client specific
In multiclient environment there are some settings and tables which are applicable to all clients in the system those are client independent or cross client
Hope this clears your doubt
Best Regards
Diwakar
