***** EMERGENCY -> Problem starting SAP on UNIX, Checking kill.sap failed.

Hi,

I am facing one issue in Production System. I am trying to start SAP and getting the error message:

Starting SAP R/3 Instance

-

(14281) Checking kill.sap failed. (No such file or directory)

System running, but no Kill-Files. Process Id = 24172

(14281) Exiting with Return-Code -108. (Invalid admininistration)

Startup of Instance failed

I have checked in work directory, and could not locate kill.sap script.

Can anyone know how to recreate or Copy kill.sap to resolve this issue ?

Any help is higly appreciated and will be rewarded too.

Thanks & Regards

my issue resolved. Got the SAP oss note Note 2033 - Startup fails, sapstart.sem, startsap, sapstart,

as per this note :

Ensure that all of the systems processes have stopped.

If necessary, run the files kill.sap and shutdown.sap in the SAP System

Working-Directory.

( /usr/sap/<system-name>/<unit name>/work ).

Ensure that all IPC objects (shared mem, semaphores, ...) have been

deleted. ( showipc <system-no) bzw. cleanipc <system-no> )

Delete file sapstart.sem.

Make sure that no files with foreign owners exist. In correct install-

ation and parameterization, no files exist in this directory that

cannot be deleted, therfore, delete the entire directly if needed.

so deleted sapstart.sem file and also run cleanipc <system nr> to delete the shared memory.

Putting this solution for all other's benifit.

Thanks
