Instance Availability - Failed


I have configured the autoreaction and it triggers email for alerts.

My first question is, can I restrict my email alerts only to red alerts or email alert when it changes from green to yellow and once again from yellow to red and again when it changes back from yellow to green?

My other question is, I purposefully brought down my WAS development instance for which, I have configured CCMS alerts in Solution Manager and also auto reaction which checks for alerts every 5 minutes. I kept the WAS -Development down for almost 20 minutes. My 'Solution_Manager' transaction in Solution Manager still shows the 'Instance Availability' with a green check mark and subsequently, I did not receive any email on this significant change to the system status. Finally, I brought back my system back up and running. How do I fix this? For your information, I have configured CCMSPING for this remote system and they show up under 'Self-Monitoring'.
