TESTING XS failed in Hana XE.

I have installed HANA express edition, everything is working fine but when i enter

http://<hxehost IP address>:8090 i am getting 503 service not found error.

The database server is connecting with HANA studio. Attaching the screenshot

Can anyone explain me what is going on?

I think the web dispatcher will expect a hostname, not an IP address, in the URL in order for you to access the XS Engine's web interface. Can you try with hostname instead?

What "flavour" of HXE is this? XS Classic is no longer included in the images as it is deprecated in SPS02. The only one that still has it is the server-only Virtual Machine.

    • Yes, XS Advanced applications is the additional stuff. The original post is looking for port 8090, which is why I'm asking about the flavor. It should show the XS Engine up and running splash screen but that's it, there should be no XSC in any of the flavors. Why one of the images has it, I don't know. I do know XSC is deprecated in SPS02 and there are also some issues with the web editor and even HANA Studio (e.g., see rs->next error in Q&A).

As for the 503 not available, if the original post was testing against Web IDE (port 53075), they would need to check if Web IDE or whatever service they are calling is actually up and running. This would be using the CLI and command xs apps and make sure it says instances "1/1" or they will get the 503 service unavailable while it is loading.

(this screenshot is from this tutorial, btw: )

The hostname should also be mapped or they will get error: The redirect_uri has an invalid domain.accessing via the IP to an XSA app. This would not apply to the 8090 splashscreen, it can be accessed straight with the IP. That splash screen is confusing because there is generally no XSC running. This has been called to attention in the meantime.
