CR2011 vs CR2013

Can the reports developed on CR 2011 be used with CR 2013 without any migration process?

Also is there any free version of CR2013 available?

We have the license for SAP BO 4.1, do we need to purchase Crystal Reports 2013 separately?

Hi Vitaly,

Thanks for the swift reply.

Please help me on my last question.

"We have the license for SAP BO 4.1, do we need to purchase Crystal Reports 2013 separately?"

Thanks in advance

Crystal Reports is backwards compatible, after version 8.5 any report designed in previous version could be opened in the latest.

If you have CR 2011 installed then you do not need a keycode for CR 2013. You can simply install update and get the version CR 2013.

Most of the licensing questions are answered in the Crystal Solutions Licensing:

The question better be addressed to your sales contact.

What I know is CR requires a separate keycode and if you do not have it as a part of your BI 4.1 package then you need a separate license. I know because I saw some packages with multiple products and license keys in one box. Check your package and talk to sales.
