How can I do a Periodic Physical Inventory without have to entry one by one the Sku´s in MI01? I would like to do a total inventory, freezing the total stock and with just one document by warehouse location (excluding old sku´s without movements for 1year) - is this possible?

First of all you should remove MI01 from your memory, except you want count 1 or 2 materials on exception.

A standard physical count for a location is created with MI31.

however, excluding stock which had 1 year no movement is neither automatically possible nor practical and most likely not correct in the sense of a legally required annual inventory.

You should not count by list and jump though the location, you will miss to count all what is unintentionally stored in this area and not on your list.

In general you have to count everything that is in a location, this is done by starting in one corner and moving towards the other corner and searching the item in the list to enter the counted quantity.

Excluding inventory which has not been moved for a year requires running analysis prior to a count, this can't be included into the selection logic of a standard program, as such analysis may take some time. You probably assume that such dead stock cannot have a change in its quantity. From experience quite the contrary, we more often had more differences in such old stock than with material with a high turnover. And especially when it was just moved to another area because it was permanently in the way, and this move happened without a posting in SAP.

But you are probably used to such analysis and if you know your material numbers then it is very convenient in MI31 to either copy the mateial numbers that you want count via the multiple selection button into your selection or to copy those that you do not want to into the exclusion tab of the multiple selection.
