Why are some SAP Components greyed out in TCODE: NOTIF_CREATE?

Hello,

I noticed that when I create a support message via NOTIF_CREATE some SAP components are greyed out. For example, I cannot select: SD (Sales & Distribution) top node.

I have already succesfully performed the Solution_Manager -> Edit -> Fetch SAP Components. In the table DSWP_CSNCOMP, I noticed that for these greyed out entries the Indicator X is missing.

Why are some components greyed out? Is there any logic or steering behind the fact that components are greyed out or not?

Hi Guido,

In SAP Support Portal, you are not allowed to open messages for all available components.

Very often top levels as BC, SD can not be selected. Obviously, the same is true in SAP Solution Manager.

The greyed out components are indeed not selectable in SAP Support Portal, I forgot the check that. The only thing is that in the satelite systems the users are able to select every component also the top levels. To me it would make more sense if this was the same in both Solution Manager and the Satelite Systems.

You raised a good question. I do not have an explanation for this.

It might be the assumption, that in companies, the restriction of some top level components is not required.

Do you know how to change grey SAP Component to be selectable in notif_create?
